I have mostly finished with the engine and frame for now.
After rearranging the shop the cab was moved inside and
then the damage was assessed. It looks to be that the seam
sealer did not do its job because some of the seams in the cowling
were rusted out. I tore out the drivers side carpet and vacuumed
up a bunch of dirt and was happy to only find some mild rust.
Hopefully this will clean up and not have to be replaced. As for
the cowling I hope that I can cut out the cancer and then weld in some
filler panels and not have to replace the cab. The rust does not seem
to be that bad but more checks on the inside will tell the whole story.
